Gathering Pipelines

Gathering pipelines are typically smaller diameter pipelines used to transport natural gas from the well site to the main processing facility generally located at the interstate pipeline. Gathering pipelines are not regulated by FERC and thus rarely involve the concern of eminent domain and condemnation.

Pipeline Right-of-Way Agreements for the installation of Gathering Pipelines should always be declined or negotiated to maximize compensation and limit the impact on the landowner’s property. No landowner should ever enter into a Pipeline Agreement for Gathering Pipelines without at least consulting with an experienced oil and gas attorney.
